Studio Policies

Studio Policies

We don’t love having “rules”, but these policies help us provide the service that you know and love.

Updated as of January 1, 2023

  • Kids & Pets: Please leave your kids & pets at home. It’s really important to us to protect the sanctity of an adult-only space. We know that child care is tough, but unfortunately, we’re not in the position to provide it.

  • Audience Members: Audience members, or people who “just wants to watch,” are not allowed at the studio. We want our dancers to feel like they can “dance like no-one’s watching.” That’s hard to do if someone is watching.

  • Pre-Registration: Classes are capped, so please pre-register on Mindbody. We may also cancel classes an hour in advance if less than 2 people are registered, so let us know you’re coming!

  • Cancelations:
If you paid with a drop-in—there are no refunds (but no extra fee) if you cancel less than 1 day ahead for drop ins (or no-show).
If you have the membership or $30/30—late cancels (<24 hours ahead) will be charged a $10 fee or $20 for a no-show. This includes inclement weather, so we recommend that you register when you know for sure you’re coming. “Switching to virtual” within the 24 hour window is also considered a late cancel.

  • Be on time: If you’re late, we might fill your spot with someone on the waitlist or you could be locked out 15 mins after class begins.

  • Equipment:  If your class typically uses equipment, please bring your own stuff: yoga mats, bands, towels, etc. If you don’t have the right equipment, send us a quick email to dance@alchemyofmovement.com and we’ll work something out for you! We also have some equipment for sale at the studio.

  • Illness: If you even think you might be sick, please don’t come to the in-person classes. Cancelation fees are waived if you let us know ahead that you woke up feeling sick.

A note from the owner

Dearest Alchemists,

I first want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for sticking with us and supporting us through the COVID madness. Thank you all for your kindness, generosity, and love for this place and the people who make it a home. I’ve certainly learned that this is not just a “dance studio” or “fitness center,” it’s a family. It’s because of you that we’re still open today.

I know that some of these changes will be hard adjustments for all of us. It’s never really been our “vibe” to require sign ups or charge late cancel/no show fees. But, if we want to be here for the long haul, we have to make some changes. We want you to know that we’re doing everything in our power to keep you dancing, happy, and healthy. We hope that you will continue to dance and support each other. We need our community now more than ever.

Love and Dance,

Ashley
