At Alchemy of Movement, our mission is to foster a healthy and happy community for adults through dance and movement. There’s something magical about how dance can transform our body, mind, and soul.

It can be hard to find dance as an adult if you haven’t trained in it your whole life, so we want to redefine what being a “dancer” means. Our mission is to be a studio where anyone can feel great in their bodies, build confidence, laugh, cry, make new friends, and grow as dancers and people—no matter where they’re starting from.

As an instructor, your job is to create classes where people feel welcome, successful, challenged, and excited to come back. We’re looking for instructors who connect genuinely with their dancers, read the room, communicate clearly, and bring their own personality to what they teach. You should care just as much about the people in front of you as the choreography, technique, or workout you’re delivering.

Details

• We have two weekday 6:30 pm classes opening soon, and filling those slots is our main focus right now.

• We’re open to choreography, technique, free-form, dance fitness, or fitness classes. We do not require that you teach a licensed format, but you do need to have a good sense of the body, fitness, and music.

• Classes are 60 minutes, and we expect you to be there about 15 minutes ahead and stay about 15 minutes after to build rapport with your dancers.

• We love instructors who are interested in growing with us and potentially offering deep dives, workshops, troupes, or other programs down the road.

• You will help promote and support Alchemy classes, teachers, and the business as a whole. This may include posting for social media, wearing Alchemy gear, and promoting other classes and events at the studio.

• Must be 21 years or older.

• Pay is dependent on experience and class attendance.

• Some perks: free studio membership, free or discounted events and Alchemy swag.

About the Hiring Process

After receiving your application, we will send you a confirmation email. If we think you might be a good fit based on your application, we will send you an invitation to audition. We will host a short 20-30 minute session for you to come and show us how awesome you are! If we think you’re a good fit after the audition, we’ll have you come in for a short interview where we’ll discuss logistics.
